ARM LIFT (BRACHIOPLASTY)

WHAT IS ARM LIFT SURGERY?

An arm lift, also known as Brachioplasty, is a body surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the under portion of your upper arms.

During an arm lift, excess skin and fat are removed from between the armpit and elbow. The remaining skin is placed back over the newly repositioned contours to create a more toned look

WHO IS THE BEST CANDIDATE FOR ARM LIFT?

The arm lift is for you if you:

  • are in good health and free of any major medical problems,
  • have achieved significant weight loss, but are left with excessive, sagging upper arm skin,
  • are women who have gained and lost weight due to multiple pregnancies, leaving drooping skin on the arms,
  • sagging skin due to the loss of skin elasticity as a result of aging,
  • should have realistic expectations from the surgery,

ARM LIFT PROCEDURE

During your consultation with one of our plastic surgeons, we will determine what type of reduction is best suited for you. Liposuction is often used to correct hanging arm tissue. There are two types of Brachioplasty surgery available in Turkey.

A partial arm lift is performed by making a small incision in the armpit region, which may extend a short distance onto the inside of the upper arm. A full arm lift may require a longer axial incision down the medial arm to the elbow.

Arm lift and liposuction can be both used in one surgery to remove excess tissue and encourage the skin to shrink and to conform to the contour of the new arm.

AFTER ARM LIFT SURGERY

One day after Arm Lift

You will be given all the medical garments and medicine which will include pain medication, anti-inflammatories, and antibiotics.

One week after Arm Lift

Avoid straining yourself or making effort with your arms. Try to rest for the first few days and avoid driving. It is best to have someone who can help during the first week after arm lift surgery.

One month after Arm Lift

Most patients experience muscle discomfort about 7 to 10 days after arm lift surgery, so it is vital to take your medication on schedule.

LEG LIFT (CALF IMPLANTS)

Many people find it difficult to enhance their calf muscles, no matter how extensive and targeted their exercise is. For some people, despite intense workouts, their lower legs remain thin and undefined.

Other people suffer from an illness that caused the leg muscles to appear under-developed. Calf implants in treatment come in a variety of sizes and shapes.

Recognized as calf augmentation; the procedure is designed to increase the size and shape of the calf. They are placed over the calf muscles to enhance their appearance and give them a more defined contour.

GOOD CANDIDATES FOR CALF IMPLANTS

Ideal candidates are individuals who are in good physical health and:

  • Psychologically stable
  • Would like to have more developed looking muscles
  • Behold realistic in their expectations for the outcomes

PREPARING FOR YOUR CALF IMPLANTS

If you are a smoker, it is important that you stop smoking before your surgery and during the recovery period because smoking can impede the healing process.

Certain medications and natural supplements may increase the risk of bleeding. Your plastic surgeon will give you a list of medications that you must stop taking prior to surgery. If you do not see one of your medications on this list, be sure to ask the surgeon.

One month before Calf Implants

Stop taking medicines such as Aspirin and Vitamin E. Stop smoking completely.

One week before Calf Implants

You will be asked to complete blood tests and cardiac evaluation.

One day before Calf Implants

Do not ingest any food or drink after the time advised by your surgeon

Pack a bag with comfortable shoes and clothing, specifically clothing that zips or buttons

Morning of Calf Implants

Shower or bathe normally.

CALF IMPLANTS PROCEDURE

On the day of calf augmentation in Turkey, you will be placed under general anesthesia and turned face down on the operating room table. An incision is made in the fascia of the muscle. The fascia is the fibrous covering of the muscle itself. Sutures close the incision.

A special instrument is employed to create a pocket between the fascia and the underlying muscle. This pocket is made just big enough for the implant to fit into securely. The leg is examined for effect and if the result renders effective then the incision in the fascia is closed with stitches. The patient will be returned to a face-up position and then taken to recovery.

AFTER CALF IMPLANT SURGERY

One day after Calf Implants

You must spend the first twenty-four hours after calf implants surgery in bed with as little movement as possible. When sitting or lying still, make sure you keep your legs elevated.

One week after Calf Implants

On average most patients return back to work and normal routine within 3 to 7 days after calf implants surgery.
